History
Gradual onset scrotal swelling, non-traumatic.
Examination
Translucent non-tender swelling , swelling entirely within scrotum (not extending to groin which may point towards hernia than hydrocoele)
Investigation
Ultra-sound
Referral
- If ultra-sound confirms hydrocoele, refer to urologist only if symptomatic and patient wants surgery.
- If ultra-sound shows an associated hernia, consider referral to general surgery (subject to low priority procedures policy).
